Through our creative experiential learning, we invite participants to future-dive into an organization, that they aspire to build. To explore an equally meaningful organization culture, our approach is anchored around appreciative inquiry principles, supported through action learning to inspire tangible culture transformation and affect sustainable change management.

The experiences each employee has within the organization shapes her outlook for the entire ecosystem that she is a part of. How we deal with each individual plays a significant role in shaping organizational culture, and culture does eventually drive the performance. Notwithstanding the significance of strategy, leadership, investments, ROI and rewards, culture forms the common bonding across every aspect of organizational well-being.

At Culture Crucibles, we are attempting to bring a fresh perspective to the traditional definition of Culture. Going beyond the vision statements, the Do’s & Don’ts, the explicit Values; culture is also about the unspoken, unstructured fabric of the organization. It is about the organizational persona that the leaders want to develop and give it meaningfulness, and it is also about what notion the employees have about that persona. One of the best forms of assessing the existing culture and crafting the right culture, is to listen to the associates, let them paint the picture of how they understand the organizational practices and what they believe to be their organizational culture. Such honest and undiluted paraphrasing can happen, when they are brought in an open environment, without being felt vulnerable. To become one with their inner selves, they need to recognize their outer selves and that leads to originality of ideas, clarity of expectations, and sincerity to build. With an open paint brush or a sharp crayon or a smooth writing pen, they reflect and intertwine their thoughts with the larger canvass, to paint that desired organization.

Approach:

Our approach takes a holistic view of various components which form the foundation as well as the radars of the organization. A fluid workshop, wherein the twin approach of tapping into human creativity is supplemented with visualization of a “desired” organization. It brings forth the gaps and aspirations in the most candid expressions, which can be duly leveraged by the leadership teams to review, redesign and rebuild a more optimistic and aligned organization.

Human Creativity:

As humans, we have an intuitive inclination towards arts, skills and sense of empathy &appreciation. While most of us are not evidently aware of it, it only takes a profound nudging to awaken that. And once the right stimuli and ambience is provided, which speaks to the inner-self of the individual, she expresses them vividly, articulating the gaps and shaping the building blocks of a healthier workplace experience. The facilitator provides a limitless and fearless ambience wherein any form of art, viz. singing, storytelling, skit, collage-making, short movie, drawing, poetry etc is encouraged, as a medium to dwell upon the very simplified aspects of organization well-being. Through iterative lucidity, the mesh of articulation is shaped into a collective unison. That’s when the group begins to rise above the individual sharing into collective aspiration.

Desired Organization:

Through a simplified tool, which asks some pertinent but non-exhausting statements, the participants are asked to rank the overall organization on a scale of “desirability”, with rationale of their scores. It extrapolates various elements of faith in leadership, personal recognition, future-readiness, learning curve, focus on employee well-being, progressive processes & policies, opportunity for self-development. 

Participants are asked to provide their responses through their creative selves, either as individuals or groups. Throughout the process, the focus is on three elements: realistic visualization, practicality of the “desirability” and mutuality of impact (for organization as well as the associate).

To make sure the exercise is not only utopian, rather genuinely utilitarian, the senior management is encouraged to join the conclusive session, wherein the participants share their visual template, with their scores on each of the “desirability” component, their rationale and explanation of the scores through the “creative” outputs, along with suggested action plans to improvise the scores.
